Original etching by Louis Icart entitled LEDA AND THE SWAN. And as you can see, this etching has GREAT COLOR under the darkening varnish, however, still very presentable. The dimensions of the image area of this HUGE FULL SHEET ETCHING (Icart's 2nd largest) are approximately 19 7/8" X 30 1/2", with the sheet size being approximately 24 1/2" X 35". Whereas the overall dimensions of the frame measures in at 31" X 41". This beauty is laid to board, carries a strong signature, and has Icart’s Windmill stamp with the pencil notation 178 of an edition of 350 written next to it.
Condition-wise... as you can see, the varnish on this beauty is darkening. However, it is possible to have this piece restored for an nominal amount if the new owner so chooses.
